***HOLY CRAPOLA, THIS AUTHOR IS ONLY 17??!!***
This books blurb caught my attention first. It was simple, yet intriguing, and as I was wanting a light read that was a little more YA/NA, I snapped it up. And boy did this deliver.
The only thing I found distracting was a few grammatical errors, but if you're not a grammar nazi like me, then you probably won't notice ;-)
Those few things in no way detracted from the story, and I found myself devouring this book in one day! I ended up staying up WAY past my bedtime to finish this, and now I am so ready for the second book, which is forecast to release in January. EEEP!!
We meet Bailey King, a high school rebel with a soft spot for the less fortunate, and she is fiercely protective of her friends. She gets the shock of her life when she discovers that her dearly departed father was, in fact, heir to the thrown of a village in Ireland.
With her grandmother, the queen, fighting a losing battle with cancer, Bailey must decide whether or not to accept the crown, and her place as princess, or keep her ordinary life with her friends.
But wait, there's more! Not one, but two hunky guys have the hots for young Bailey, and she has feelings for them both as well. Let the angst begin!
While no romantic decisions are made in this book, it makes you look forward to the second installment that much more.
I give this book 4 1/2 STARS! It has a cliffhanger-ish ending, but gives you enough closure that you're not left giving your e-reader a WTH?! glare once you're done.
Oh, and did I mention that this chick is only 17??? She has a very promising future as a writer ahead of her, as her writing will only improve as she goes along. Congrats girl, and let's get Book 2 soon please!!
