Okay, my first impression of Cade in the prologue was like most other law enforcement heroes, except when his woman was taken by the villain--her own father--Cade was unable to rescue her before it was too late.
Present day Cade is beyond jaded. He may indulge in casual sex, but the women he beds know the score ... there's no chance at a relationship. Period.
When he moves into the house next door to Bayleigh, she is not as thrilled as most women would be to see a hot as hell man and his brothers with their muscles bulging as they unpack a moving truck. Of course this could be because all this was taking place before the sun had even risen. (You go girl! I would have turned the hose on them myself)
Cade has decided to leave the agency he was with and pursue a career as a police officer in the small Texas town, but the drug cartel is still out for revenge.
When his interest in Bayleigh makes her their next target, he must do what he can to protect her. However, when a few choice words send her fleeing the safety of her own home in the middle of the night, will he get to her in time to prevent history from repeating itself?

I give this book 5 stars and am likely going to be grabbing up the next book soon too!

This three book series was a fantastic YA read, and a great break from all the intensely sexual books that are flooding the market at the moment.

In these books we get to know Lorelei, a 16 yr old girl who has been having visions ever since she can remember. Together with her two best friends she discovers that she is part of some ancient prophecy. She's been dubbed the 'Prophet', and that's not all.
In book one, the loner kid in school, Cameron, begins to follow her. He's standing in front of her house all night, and she sees him everywhere she goes. As it turns out, he's her guardian, charged with protecting her so that she can fulfill her destiny. It comes out that he's not only her guardian, but he's a nephilim, a half human half angel, who is incredibly strong and extremely hard to kill.
When a new kid in school arrives, his odd behavior is enough to draw attention, but what has every girl around  drooling is his insanely hot body. He's got the whole tall, dark and dangerous vibe that just tends to draw women to him, but Cameron just won't stop glaring daggers.
As it turns out, the new boy, Jared, is none other than the Angel of Death, and he's been sent for Lorelei. However, instead of taking her life, he saves it, therefore trapping himself on their plane as punishment for breaking the rules for his kind.

Moon (New Species Book 10)

Never become sexually involved with a patient. With her body betraying her feigned indifference at every turn, she knows that it's only a matter of time before she gives in, so she leaves.

Now she's the only person that can get close to Moon, and will risk her life in an attempt to bring him out of his feral state. Will her love be enough to save him?

She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it, and what she wants is a man. Not just any man, but Shadow. Ever since he found her running in the middle of a storm, she's been fascinated by him. His scent is comforting, and when he hold her in his strong arms she can't think of anywhere else she'd rather be.

Shadow ends up feeling rather protective and a tad bit possessive of the small female, and that leads to them being sequestered in a home together, as it becomes evident that Beauty is more interested in finding a mate than the other Gift females that have sworn off men all together.

Watching these two stumble through their feelings and how they deal with the attraction growing hotter with each passing day, was both endearing as well as entertaining. 

I would recommend this series to each and every lover of Paranormal Romance!

Obsidian (New Species 8)

Dr. Allison Baker is obsessed with saving the comatose New Species male. She has tried everything and there’s only one option left. But the sweet oblivion that came when he finally lost consciousness gave him the peace that he needed.

Dr. Allison had taken care of 880 (Obsidian) since his arrival at Homeland. He'd remained in a comatose state, and the others were quickly losing hope that he would ever recover, but Allison wasn't about to give up on him ... so she stole him.

I gotta admit, the girl has spunk! Mainly because she's human and the New Species had their own laws when it came to their kind. Meaning that she would likely be facing spending the rest of her life behind bars at the prison they'd built to hold any and all Mercile employees that they captured.

Nope, not a place that she wanted to be.

But, hey, it worked, and he soon realizes that if it weren't for the gorgeous doc, and her faith in him, he may very well have wasted away in the hospital bed he'd lain in for months.

Needless to say, he owed her his life ... not to mention that his body craved her touch more than anything else.

She was his!

This book was one that kept you on the edge of your seat. When would he regain consciousness? Would he attack when he woke up? What kind of punishment would Allison endure for kidnapping Obsidian?

It was great watching him go through the exact same thing that his friends did, and yet to see how very sweet his was to Zandy.
All of these men ... *sigh* If only they were real.

Justice (New Species Book 4)

Justice is the appointed leader of the New Species, a position that keeps him in the public eye and involves certain expectations. Like when he takes a mate, it is expected for her to be a New Species female.
When Jessie Dupree takes part in a rescue, she makes sure that she is there for the females that are recovered and prefers to remain with them until they are settled in their new homes. She attempts to speak to Justice about some changes she believes will benefit their women, but is attacked by several male New Species who still hold a grudge against humans. Any humans.
Justice comes to the rescue, but instantly takes notice of how well Jessie managed to fend of the males, which is no small fete for a human woman.
With the chemistry flying between them, it's no wonder Justice loses his calm facade when Jessie is shot during one of the rescues she assists in.
With her father insisting that she no longer take part in the more dangerous aspects of helping the New Species, she now remains at Homeland permanently ... and right next door to the Justice.

Valiant (New Species Book 3)

This book may very well be my favorite so far. Valiant is one of the New Species who were considered failures by the  Mercile scientists. His animal characteristics greatly overshadow his human appearance, making it impossible for him to even attempt to blend in.
He lives out in the wilderness that surrounds Reservation, an area known as the 'wild zone'. This is where the more aggressive, and less civilized of the Species roam.
With the majority of his life consisting of physical and mental torture is it any wonder that he hates humans?
So when one stumbles not just into his territory, but up to the front of his home, he considers it his right to take care of the intruder himself. The only problem? Once he sets his eyes on the terrified woman before him, and takes in her intoxicating scent, sending her away is the furthest thing from his thoughts.
Tammy tries her best to be prepared for whatever new calamity life will send her way, but nothing could prepare her for the giant lion-man who ignores the orders of the men around him and snatches Tammy up, bringing her into his home and straight to his bed.
She's terrified, but intrigued. His touch is gentle, his eyes hypnotic, and his body ... to die for!

I loved this story! I'll admit that part of my absence from here stems from the fact that I tore through this series non-stop, and you should do the same!! If you like shifters, you're going to love these characters for sure.

This book is the first in a series and holy cow, is it good!! I devoured this bad boy in a day and immediately went on to book two. I love, love, LOVE books like this!
